Republican National Convention Delegates Elected From Union County

April 13, 2008

Two delegates and one alternate delegate all from Union County were elected during the 8th and 9th District Conventions held on Saturday, April 12th.

Diane Pomykacz was voted as the National Convention Delegate nominee during the March 15th Union County Convention and then voted in as Delegate during Saturday’s 9th District Convention held at the National Whitewater Center in Mecklenburg County . 

Jimmy Bention Sr and William Davis of the 8th District were nominated and voted in as delegate and alternate delegate respectively during Saturday’s 8th district convention on April 12th held in Stanley County.

The Republican National Convention will take place on Sept 1-4, 2008 in Minneapolis, Mn. where all candidates and delegates will converge for the party’s presidential nomination.

The Union County Republican Party is proud of all three delegates and the honor bestowed upon them.

NCGOP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ENDORSES JUDICIAL CANDIDATES

At the April 5th Executive Committee meeting the following candidates were officially endorsed for their respective offices by the North Carolina Republican State Executive Committee.

Judicial candidates are eligible for public financing. If our candidates do not qualify for public financing, they will certainly be outspent. In order to qualify, our candidates must receive personal checks from at least 350 registered NC voters in amounts from $10-$500 (reaching a minimum of $36,000) before May 6, 2008. Checks must be made payable to each candidate’s campaign committee and mailed to each of the above addresses.

In order to ensure that we keep conservatives in the state judiciary, we must support these candidates! Please do so by visiting their websites to make a contribution or mail a check to their respective campaign committees.

Conventions Scheduled, County, 8th, 9th, District, State and National

The 2008 Union County Convention will be held on March 15th at the old courthouse in downtown Monroe, beginning with delegate registration at 8:00 AM to 8:50 AM. The 8th District Republican Partywill hold its 2008 Convention on April 12, 2008.  It will be held in Albemarle at the Stanly Commons.  Those who attended our convention last year will recognize this as the same location.  It is directly across from Stanly Memorial Hospital on First Street.  The convention will start at 10:00am with registration beginning at 8:30 am and closing at 9:50 am.
